Thank you for the teens in my life, and in this world,
As the embark on a day of activism
Keep them safe and loud.
Keep them safe and urgent.
Keep them safe and smart.
Keep them safe and focused.
Keep them safe and specific about the changes we need, so that all teens, all children, all of us, are safe.
And when they are done, help them wake up again tomorrow and continue the work, so that all of us are safe, no matter our skin color or sexual orientation or age or religion.
Safe in Parkland. In Las Vegas. In Orlando.
Safe at Virginia Tech, in our churches, in our schools.
And safe on playgrounds, in our cars, on the streets where we live.
Raise your voices loudly, urgently, smartly.
Be focused and work for change.
So that all of us are safe.
All of us.

Your mind is in the same place mine is today. I worry about their safety in a march about safety (odd). I agree with you, keep them safe. That is my wish for this day.

Your words are touching and say what most of us are probably thinking. Thank you for the opportunity to recite this prayer with you.
