I have been in some beautiful spaces the past few days:
* Gathering as a family eating a delicious mom's day brunch.
* Working with my little PreK friends, who continue to have so much energy.
* Listening to a candidate for governor explain her platform of being "good neighbors" for each other.
* Hosting a Zoom call with an incredible wellness practitioner who helped us build our toolkits for checking in with ourselves and responding with a micro-practice to stay steady, be soothed.
* Touring a senior living community with my parents, who are just taking the first exploratory first steps in their journey toward a new home.
* Working up more energy for justice listening to April England-Albright, the legal director at Black Voters Matter and a speaker on an awesome Zoom call tonight.

I want to use these moments to keep my energy high, my hope activated, my actions aligned. It is so easy to slip into discouragement or anger, and those are less impactful, less effective emotions for these days that require focus, fortitude and steadiness. So rather than a list of complaints tonight, I'm Slicing the positive and being a drop of water*, perhaps seeming insignificant but by dripping each day, wearing away that path to beloved community, to light and love.
It was the best feeling to see this appreciation post on Instagram.
* props to April England-Albright for this metaphor
