THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN A SPOILER!
A rarely do Wordle in the morning, but strangely, I swiped to the NY Times Games app first thing this morning and played while still laying in bed (in a hotel, in Denver, which is off routine anyway!).
I pick a random word every day, often inspired by something that pops into my brain, and today I barely had to think to come up with my word. Today, my guess was unique enough that it used by less than 0.1% of players, according to the Wordle Bot!
Hmmm, one letter right.
I moved it to the first letter, glanced at the remaining letters and guessed quickly again, without a ton of obsessing, re-arranging, or strategizing. Just moving from instinct. As each box turned green, I got more and more excited... til finally, I got a compliment from the app: "Magnificent!"
It's such a small thrill to get Wordle in 2, and for all the silly reasons, it sets me on a path of positivity for the whole day. Let me say good morning to more people! Let me let someone cut in front of me on the train - no problem. OK, the Denver airport was packed and hectic, but no worries, I got Wordle in 2 and it turns out, for once, my gate was closest to the shuttle, not farthest. Thank you, Wordle!
Any other Wordle fans out there?
(PS: In case you're wondering: I am not Irish, so this is a Wordle thing, not luck of the Irish thing for me!)
WOW! I'm impressed! I've had that thrill of getting Wordle in 2 seventeen times so far. (Yes, I went and looked at my stats!!) I wrote about Wordle-ing for today's slice, too. I got it in 3 on Friday and wrote a Wordle-ku using my guesses. Molly at Nix the Comfort Zone is also a Wordler, and it was her post on Friday that pushed me to write mine!
ReplyDeleteI love that you checked your own stats, and now I'm going to check out the other Wordle-ific Slices for more inspo - thank you for the heads-up, Mary Lee!

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Me Too! I do the Wordle first thing every morning and share the results with my sister-in-law and niece. I have only solved it in two 26/690. You would have thought I won the lottery! Glad the rest of your day floated on the happiness of solving it in two!
Rita, I can't believe - two 2s right here in the Slicing world!!! I went crazy and my husband was not duly impressed. Thank goodness other Wordle-ing Slicers get it! (And I'm impressed with your 2 data - I'm not even at 3%, and you're touching 4%!).
DeleteNice! I am a Wordle-er! I used to use a different word every day because I knew that was the only way I could ever get it one. And I did it onece! Now, I use the same starter words. I am thinking about using Wordle for my April poetry project, which means I would need to switch to a new word.
