March 17: Haiku Day x 5

Spring, you seem to be
Terribly far away and
I'm worried you're lost.

I received a book
At exactly the right time
To learn something new.

"Once upon a time"
Is great for princesses but
Off base for rock stars.

Checking to see if
It's safe to eat the whole sleeve
Of thin mints... ... ...  too late.

And one more, in honor of AKR (inspiration link below):

She told us all to
"Make the most of your time here."
YEEESSS! I'm in! Are you?

  1. Ooooh. I really liked your poetry. My favorite haiku is the first one. I just got in orders of plants for landscaping around my house... Looks like it is going to be a while before they are outside. I'm running out of room in the house.

  2. This is such a cool idea for a post. I also love that you borrowed from Story Corps - I found out they're going to be recording stories in my hometown next month, so I'm excited to hear some of those!

I loved your 2nd haiku - isn't it nice when that happens?

  4. Wonderful haiku! I think spring may be lost too, but there are a few blossoms in my part of the country, so I think she's coming, slowly . . . ever so slowly. And the sleeve of Thin Mints, we've all been there!
